Hi Readers,
Today I am going to help you with this article, because I
know a lot of you all can relate to this. This is a question we ask ourselves,
people ask us or sometimes Interviewers ask us. A question which breaks hell
into our minds. I know it is hard to decide about your future, and what you
want to be because we are in world where our society is shaping our thoughts,
our parents are being a lot typical because they were brought up in a different
generation. Being independent is out of question for a lot of people because of
their family, if not their parents, we have a bunch called our relatives, who
likes shoving their asses into anything and everything. Pardon my language.
I was in a phase where I wanted to decide where I saw myself
in ten years. And this was perfectly during my teens, 14 to be exact. I had
just finished 10th grade, and I had to choose if I wanted to pursue
Computer Science which was something I have always been good at, or if I wanted
to take arts and science, because I could do something that I am passionate
about, which is take up Psychology, English or Hotel Management. Not many
people know this about me, but I have been an enthusiast of food, and this I am
sure anyone close to me would know. I love cooking, not just for me but for
others too, because for me the way to someone’s heart is by food. When the tummy
is happy, the heart is too. I had to decide, and it sure was a big decision.
Before I continue, let me break the suspense, I chose
engineering. But I regret it not today, not yesterday, but every single day of
my life. Not because, I didn’t enjoy it, but because I believe that this is not
my passion and I would have felt happier doing something I loved and wanted to
do. The reason I chose engineering was because, kids from the 90’s can relate
to this. We grew up in a society where if someone took arts and science, they
were kids choosing the easy way out and it hurt my ego. I was too proud to be
one of those kids, but I learnt it the hard way that the society talks today
about you, and tomorrow someone else is the topic.
My piece of advice from this article would be to anyone and
everyone how is confused about making decisions about their lives to just close
your eyes, take a deep breath and think what they want in life. I know
sometimes money dominates passion. People do the other job just because it pays
you more. Well in that case, luxury becomes your passion. It drives you to grow
and grow. Choose whatever pleases you, but don’t let anyone else take that
decision for you because they won’t stick around till you blame them for
ruining your life. A life with questions starting with “what if?” is a life of
misery. You can trust me on that.
If you think someone or something is holding you back from
your passion, fight for it. Don’t just argue, fight for it. Take a stand and
chase that passion anywhere it leads you to. That way, in the future you will
have a big bright smile on your face every day when you wake up for work or
whatever that you do.
